Matlock Street
Approaching Bakewell from Matlock along Matlock Street is a lovely way to enter the town. From Haddon Hall the road winds over countryside into the outskirts of the town where there are some fine houses on either side of the road. Passing the vehicle entrance to the Agricultural Centre, where a weekly cattle market is held, a car boot sale in Spring and Summer and a monthly farmers market, you will see Bakwell park on your right. This has all the usual attractions including cricket, tennis and a children’s play are and is in the mosyt glorious situation, with the River Wye running through. As you enter the town via Matlock Street you will encounter many retail outlets that are very popular with tourists and residents alike.
